I understand that after December 28 nurses will no longer qualify to assess competency. It is unclear about performing initial training. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

My suggestion is (painful) to use the link Christin provided to see that there are several places where grandfathering is allowed after 12.28.24. I'm glad one of the attendees came back and told participants about the TCs being included. How long any of us can hang on to employees who can grandfather is a big question but it's at least an option.
On the PPMP 'changes' - that's not a change in CLIA. If you (painfully) read the verbiage in final rule, it's been a CLIA reg because there is no CLIA inclusion language for the role of TC in PPMP which means it must be the LD to do the PPMP competency assessments (I think none of us clued in because no accreditation inspector mentioned that in any webinar or talk we've heard in the last 20 years!).
