Does anyone have the CPT code for the HemoSonics QPlus & QStat. I found the following: The CPT code for whole blood viscoelastic coagulation tests performed with a HemoSonics instrument is 85396. However, if the test is performed in-patient, reimbursement is based on a DRG model.

We are currently going down this road now! We are waiting for verification, but we believe that we will drop a single CPT of 85396 for the productivity aspect even though reimbursement is based on the DRG model.
Contact your sales rep, they should provide you with the CPT for test code.
Test need a CPT code for it to be billable and it does not change the fact for DRG reimbursement. Your can bill $100,000 actual test performed but you will only get $5,000 because that is what DRG says is the value of the service due to patient diagnosis. CPT code is base on the test code not on DRG.
