Clinitek Status + to Status Connect

Hello, I have 2 Clinitek Status + instruments at locations that are going to be interfaced.  I believe I can just buy the upgrade kit that provides the base and scanner gun.  Has anyone done this?

All of our Clinitek Status + devices are interfaced, solicited testing with orders, using Telcor to Epic and is across 4 counties. You are correct that your current Clinitek Status + devices will all need the interface base and the scanner (not technically required but a huge help in compliance of identifiers). The Cliniteks can be programmed for operator lock out and QC lock out. You are going to love this!

I have the Connects elsewhere but they were purchased as such.  I've never upgraded a Status + though.  Thank you!

Oh, I see now. I had read that you were moving to interfacing at this point. You can upgrade just like you are saying with the purchase of the base and scanner. The base will come with the appropriate connect cords for the Clinitek to hook up.

I second Erika's response! We have 22 interfaced Clinitek Status+ devices - if you have any questions feel free to reach out! We do unsolicited using Telcor and Epic. Purchasing the upgrade kit is all you'll need.

We have interfaced Clinitek Status+ with RALS to EPIC and I'll echo everyone - it's great. My only advice would be to check that you have the latest Software version on your Cliniteks before adding the Connect System.

Thanks Mary Jo, good point!

Yes you can but if your instrument is old, you are better off buying the new set (cost) and have that old one as your backup. If you want to implement a new project – having both instrument new is best option as Clinitek are not serviceable.

You may want to involve your IT. Our IT has to approve the Security. Siemens is coming out with a new OS so yes, you might want to wait till then. We're in the midst of integrating ours and we need the Connect base plus a Lantronix device to integrate to Telcor to EPIC.

Hi Karen, we are going to Telcor/Epic in May.  We have 12 Cliniteks and all but 2 have the Connect base.  We've started testing and we've been able to connect to Telcor without a Lantronix.  The only instruments we have Lantronix for is our Avox's and ACT Pluses.

Hi Anita- I was told by our ISD that we need the Lantronix and since I'm a novice at this, I just have to take their word. Currently we have 2 Clinitek Status instruments connected like this (Connector base + Lantronix +Telcor+EPIC) in our main lab in the hospital. Maybe it's the ISD Security review that's driving the requirement for the Lantronix, I'm not sure. We're just getting quotes now, and maybe by the time we're ready to move forward, Siemens will have their new OS out there.
