How are others meeting the POC.07512 standard requiring end user to perform QC routinely?
Has anyone defined how often "routine" should be?

All of our units performing POC testing are responsible for performing QC at the specified intervals,  POC Coordinators review the QC monthly, and send gentle reminders when a QC was missed/late,

We have our devices set up to lock out operators for patient testing if QC is not performed every 24 hours.

We have not defined 'routine', however, we do require QC performance as part of annual competency.

POC.07512 QC Handling-The laboratory tests control specimens in the same manner and by the same personnel as patient/client samples.  NOTE: Personnel who routinely perform patient testing must analyze QC specimens
Evidence of Compliance: Records reflecting that QC is performed by the same personnel performing patient testing

Our data manager (UniPOC) captures the testing personnel who performs the QC.  In the past, we used manual QC logs to document when and who performed QC at the required intervals stated in our procedures. Surveyors want to see that the test operators are the ones performing the QC and not the Point of Care coordinators. We have performance of QC as part of competency assessment, so each operator is required to run QC at least once per year and we also encourage rotating the staff.
