CMS qualifications for Competency Assessors
Hello Fellow POCCs.
MLH is 4 hospital system with 2.2 POCCs to manage 4000 operators. 1358 observations need to be completed on an annual basis as part of competency.
In the current process, we had nurses, who had a BSN and 2 years' experience with the test method, functioning as competency assessors (technical consultant), so that nurses could complete the direct observation on each other.
BSN Nurses were also doing training and competency for new hires.

Accu-Chek Inform II users- how did your institution define Critically Ill
Hi Everyone,
Here at Main Line Health in PA, we are using the Accu-Chek Inform II (POCT) knowing that had not been approved for use in the critically ill.

This necessitated, that in the ICU units, only nurses (BSN or with the designated education) could perform fingerstick glucose testing on ICU pa...

Switching ACT from Medtronix to Hemochron Sig Elite
We are in the process of switching from Medtronix to the Hemochron Sig Elite. While we found the ACT-LR to be fairly comparable to the Medtronix results in Dialysis setting (lower range spectrum), we see more difference in the CV-OR high range study using the ACT+ cuvettes. Has anyone gone through a similar switch and have you completed target studies? What was your experience like? Did you have to change your targets?
Thanks!
Thanks!
