Comparisons Abbott i-STAT vs IL GEM 5000

Hello,
I'm in search of suitable material to perform comparisons of ionized calcium on the Abbott i-STAT (EG7+ blood gas cartridge) and the Instrument Laboratories GEM Premier 5000. CAP has samples that are specific to the i-STAT but not the GEM, and vice versa. Anyone have any suggestions.

what about whole blood samples? It is what is mostly recommended for intra-method comparison anyway, to avoid this very thing (matrix interferences). It's unusual with POC devices to find a QC or PT material that works equally well for all and is actually comparable.
We always used patient samples - fresh whole blood tested immediately. Normally had to recruit a few volunteers in the lab for normals, and older heparinized specimens for abnormals.
We use whole blood lithium heparin patient samples. Our facility is large enough that we get plenty of samples to choose from.
I concur that whole blood samples will be the most appropriate sample for method comparisons. Thank you all for your replies and feedback.
