"TPA eligible" INR Value

Hi Everyone,

We are working on implementing PTINR with the Hemochron SigElite in our Emergency Department for stroke protocol.  Validations went swimmingly as per manufacturer's claim/product
insert, however the INR & Plasma Equiv values do not compare well to the laboratory (we use the IL Tops).  We concluded that the POCT INR will have to have a different reference range.

Our stroke protocol uses a series of criteria for a patient to receive TPA - one of which is INR.  We anticipate the physicians asking for us to provide them a new specific TPA cutoff
value, but there isn't a set bias when comparing the SigElite and Tops.

My pathologist has asked me to reach out and ask what other institutions are doing with SigElite in their stroke protocol.

Is anyone currently using the SigElite Citrated PTINR and would you be willing to provide your TPA eligible INR value?  This is not the cutoff value to confirm with the lab, but the
value physicians use to give TPA.  Please feel free to contact me offline.

Blessings,
