Does anyone use any of the CLIA waived molecular tests for flu, strep, and RSV? If so, which ones - any thoughts?

We use BD Veritor. System works very well for us.
We use the Veritor system also. Works well. The better systems are true molecular and much more expensive. I couldn't justify the cost of the better systems because we have true molecular analyzers in our Main Laboratory already.
I'm a POC Specialist for the BD Veritor. If you would like some information on the Veritor System, I'd be happy to send it.

So far all I have looked at is the Alere i analyzer. Max, what do you mean by "true" molecular? We do not have molecular testing in our main lab so that isn't an option.
WE have Sofia for FLU and RSV but it is done in the lab not POC setting .
BD Veritor is not molecular. I really like it, but it is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay. Strep A negatives still must be confirmed by a culture, unlike the Alere and Roche molecular systems. Unfortunately, my volume and patient population is not conducive to the expenditure of the analyzers needed for those.
BTW> My email response was rejectedas "unable to verify sender"
Not sure if that is my email account's problem.
Roche has the Cobas Liat. Kind of pricey, but does molecular waived testing for flu/RSV and I think strep now.
Susan, the Veritor is an optical read system for rapid immunoassay. The only true molecular I know of is the Roche LIAT and Alere i. The LIAT is very expensive and I have lost trust in Roche with other instrumentation. The i had multiple steps that are not conducive to POCT. The Quidel option is molecular like, but not true molecular.
Does it have a Barcode reader to scan Operator ID and Patient Medical Record#?
do you have it interfaced with RALS and do your results cross over into your LIS System?
We have the GeneXpert Express for Strep and Flu/RSV in 1 of our UC. We have 2 of the 2x2 setups so even if there is an issue with one of the modules the other 3 are still working. The site likes the test quality and not having to verify negatives and it's actually very easy to use.
