Hello,
We currently use Roche accuchek performa meters throughout the clinics in our organization and just received a notice that they will be discontinued in Dec 2018. I am wondering what other orginizations use? We are not wanting to place the Inform II meters throughout clinics as we do not see a need for them to be interfaced.
Thank you,
Emily

We use Nova StatStrip in our 4 hospitals, and the Stat Strip Xpress in our Clinics, Convenient Care, and Primary Care Clinics.
The StatStrip meters are interfaced, via NovaNet and Telcor. StatStrip Xpress are not interfaceable. Both use the same
Control solutions and Test Strips.
We implemented Nova Meters in 2013 and have been very pleased with the meters. We will be upgrading to the new
Wireless StatStrip meters in the near future.

Roche did say in their notification that they would continue to support the Performa until 2022, so it's not like we need to go out today and get a replacement. You just wouldn't be able to buy new meters if you needed any. You can still get the strips and controls until 2022. At least, that's how I read it.
I guess our Roche rep doesn't realize we've been using Performa in very low volume clinics because she was just visiting today and didn't mention. Could someone please send the letter as an attachment to my email? so appreciate that. pmann@utmb.edu
FYI we don't buy 'performa' strips for the meter, we use INFORM II strips and controls, so as long as INFORM II products are packaged, we all would have supplies as long as the meters keep working.

Could someone please email me the notice too...please.

I didn't receive the notice either. When was the announcement? Would someone mind sharing it with me also? dianne_jenkins@trihealth.com
Thanks!
We use Nova StatStrip in all our units and are upgrading them in the upcoming months. we have them linked via Telacor and NOVAnet. We do have one little STATStrip Xpress in our oncology unit which will be getting changed over to STATStrip when we get new upgrade. Nova Customer service is excellent and we have never had issues with the units and they are fast on replacing them when they go down.
I too would appreciate a copy of the notice as we did not receive it either and use these instruments in our ambulance sections. Thank you

Yes, it seems like we will be able to buy supplies for quite some time but I am trying to get prepared for which meter we will be moving to if we have a new clinic needing poc glucose testing or a clinic adding glucose testing to their test menu. Thank you for the replies!
We ended up switching to the Medline Evencare G3 meter. I just wanted to share as most of the limitations are similar to the performa.
We had a location that is a long term facility ( before I had all glucose meter standardized) that used Evencare.
They keep replacing the units because they do not last long.
I did not think they were hospital ( professional) grade.
We changed all our clinics and other locations to NOVA StatStrip Xpress.
They do not have connectivity but results are comparable to the hospital NOVA meters and can be used with critically ill patients.
We only use them in the clinics--not within the hospital--no critical patients
