PT for ER

The ER in our facility wants to cut out their turn around time to 30 mins. I was just wondering what you can recommend for Protime testing. Most of the POC device that I know are only intended for monitoring. Thank you

The POC devices that I know of are all intended for monitoring. What is the root cause for not meeting the 30 minute turn around time? Can the ER draw the sample at triage instead of at IV input? Do you have a pneumatic tube system that a bright neon card can be added to that specific bag? Is it sent to a specific tube system that is only for Stats? Can they call a designated person to alert that a sample is coming? These are all items we discussed at our hospital to lower ER TATs. It was a significant change. Good luck.
