Abbott FreeStyle Precision Pro Configuration Info

Can anyone who is 'live' with Abbott FreeStyle Precision Pro meters at their facility confirm whether the instrument configuration and operator information is transmitted wirelessly? We are aware of course that results transmit wirelessly but we are hearing some conflicting stories on whether the operator list and meter configuration info will, or if that information requires a hard dock to be downloaded.
Thanks in advance!

Hi James,
I've just recently run into this and was wondering the same thing. I've noticed that while results transmit, I've had to hard dock the meters for the new operator list to download. I haven't yet figured out if the patient list downloads each time the meter connects wirelessly...
I didn't even think about instrument configuration.
We have had the Abbott Freestyle Precision Pro Glucose meters since last December. The wireless transmission is 2 way. All results upload with the operator and meter ID and all meter configurations, operator lists, lot numbers etc. will wirelessly upload to the meter. The only time we use the Docking Station is for configuration of a brand new meter.
Just make sure that staff are trained correctly so that when they first turn on a wireless meter they do not touch any meter keys until the meter connects to the network and updates any meter information. There are small arrows visible in the lower left on the meter screen when first turned on. They will remain until all information has completed transmission. If the operator press the Control or Patient key for testing the upload will be interrupted and meter will not be updated. Our staff went through a learning curve because they were used to turning the meter on and pressing #1 or 2 to start a test.
Thank you so much Lynn - very helpful!!
Ruth - hope that helps you out as well :)
We have had the Abbott Freestyle Precision Pro since Feb 2017. I have found that our glucometers only transmit information 2 ways with the initial wireless transmission upon turning on. The other 2 opportunities for information to be sent wirelessly only sends information to our POC application/EHR; glucometers don't receive any information during these transmissions. This information was not made clear to us upon implementation and we discovered after go live. In speaking with Abbott this is a glucometer restriction and not one particular to our institution.
Thanks Alex - that sounds c/w what we're hearing from other facilities. Thank you for sharing your experience!
