We use the Hemocue Hb analyzer. You get results within a few seconds and it is Waived! If you have ever donated blood with the Red Cross, they use it. We have a different model but it is the same protocol.
we used the hemocue. its easy to use, and quick
I agree. Hemocue Hb 201 analyzer. Room temp cuvettes. RNA medical offers 3 levels of QC.
Hello,
We have both the Hemopoint and the Hemocue in several outpatient clinics.
Very similar. Equally approved by staff.
We use the HemoCue Hb 201 Analyzer in the Bloodless Program PST (Out Patient Services Testing) and its waived. I did have to do additional training with staff due to operator error on specimen collection. MLO-ONLINE.com (Sept. 2018) The Observatory stated "Hb values are among the parameters most prone to being affected by pre-analytical error. Incorrect capillary blood sampling is the most common reason for inaccurate POC hemoglobin results." I am sharing my observation (hope it helps) that I needed to correct (several times) and re-train/make changes w/ end-users on the following:
I know it all sounds simple to the MT, but for clinical staff its not; follow up training may be necessary. We continue to monitor the POC results w/ Core Lab hemoglobin and operators competency testing per policy.
