Health Fair Point of Care devices

I was asked to gather information on Point of Care devices that could be used in Health Fairs for the following tests:
1. Glucose
2. Lipid
3. A1c
4. Nicotine
I am to give them a list of 3 devices for each.
I would appreciate any information you all have.
Thank you,
Kathy Heidrick

I'd start with the cholestech LDX and Afinion AS1000
We just switched to CardioChek for lipids and Glu. Correlations were great.
I think CardioChek also has Nicotine.
Which cardiocheck do you have? the regular or the plus? we have failed 3 survey from API last year. I don't feel the results match our main chemistry analyzers. We use the Beckman AU.
We have the plus. It matched our lab method very well; we use Vitros 5600.
We have not had a PT yet! Yikes!
the survey from API has come out. We completed testing last Thursday. Did you perform the survey? I believe on the activity menu from CAP that PT testing must be done. If it wasn't a requirement, I wouldn't be doing it.
We use Coaguchek XS Plus for PT/INR testing and McKesson TrueMetrix Pro for Glucose.
At my previous job, we used Abbott i-STAT for PT/INR testing... I like the Coaguchek XS much better! Both are simple to use, the Coaguchek uses a strip making it easier to obtain the big first drop. The i-STAT uses cartridges (like the BMP ones) and it can be challenging to get the drop of blood to wick down the cartridge, causing the analyzer to give error messages and therefore having to re-stick the patient to repeat.
We have not completed training yet- only the validation.
We also use the CardiChek PA for glucose and total cholesterol which is the only thing our state allows without specific approval for health screenings.
