Clinitek Status Connect & Telcor

We just recently purchased the Connect bases for our Clinitek Status + analyzers. For those of you using the Connect system, do you use a barcode for your patient? If so, what information is obtained from the barcode by the Clinitek? We currently have the Meditech Ambulatory system, and were told that they do not have the capability to produce barcodes for patients. We also use Telcor QML for our glucose meters and would like to expand it to our Cliniteks, but don't know how we would do that without the ability to generate barcodes for patients.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

We are solicited. It was the only way to ensure the correct provider was on the result and the bill.
What controls are you using for your Clinitek? We use the Quantimetrix controls, which does not allow the expiration date to be pulled over when we scan the barcode like the strips do. Staff have to manually input the expiration date each time.
We use MAS UA QC for the Clinitek.
We have the same problem.
I made barcode label for the Lot number to be scanned
but the Expiration date cannot be entered by scanning.
It is a Clinitek programming that should be changed.
I am sure Siemens has been told about it.
But they have not changed how it is inputted to the Clinitek.
So we still enter the expiration date manually.
So frustrating!
The rationale that my Siemens rep used in explaining that particular quirk is because many of the QC materials that are compatible have expiration dates that may vary from the manufacturer's expiration. For example, the Quantimetrix QC can be stored refrigerated or at room temperature, but if at RT the stability changes to one month.
Yes, Siemens is aware of the inability of the latest version software for Clinitek Status Connect; 2.6/2.4 version, not bringing across the Expiration Dates for the Quantimetrix UA controls. This is not just a Siemens project, this also needs to be coordinated with these independent manufacturers of the urine controls being used on the Connect System. These linear bar codes probably contain all the necessary info, but Siemens needs to work with these manufacturers to obtain the decodes for these bar codes so we can have them transmitted to the Connect and the Connect software may also need to be upgraded to accept these codes. The Connect does automatically recognize Lot 's and Exp Dates as exampled by all the Siemens reagents run on the Connect; i.e. Multistix 1-SG, Clinitest hCG, Clinitek Microalbumin 2, and Multistix PRO 10LS. If you have any further questions, please contact me or your local Siemens representative.
Thank you for all of your input! It is greatly appreciated.
