How involved is nursing education in training and competency of your staff? Clinical RN educators provide all the training for POC testing. POCC trains the Clinical RN staff. Clinic staff is educated by POCC by a Train the trainer format. RN educators perform all competency testing *including the competency testing of the POCC. RN managers in the clinics are responsible for their staff competencies. All is documented in HealthStream and relayed to POCC
Are all POC instruments and tests interfaced? NOT. A. SINGLE. ONE. FY20 project is to interface the accu-chek Inform IIs (with wireless connectivity), then Coagu-chek, clinitek, urisys, then DCA.

Having a POC refresher or train the trainer class once a year is a great idea that I need to do - slowly learning all these tips and tricks from all of you!
