Hello All,
We have a team that visits patients in their homes to re-enforce discharge
instructions and to help with appointments ect....
What do I need to do to set up waived testing in the patient's home?
Would it be the same as in-house?
Training, competency, record keeping.....
not sure which tests....maybe glucose random, (glucometer)
maybe urine for microalbumin. Any and all suggestions welcomed.
Would this be covered by CAP or Joint Commission?
Thank you , betty

Waived testing does not have to be covered by any accreditor (which CAP and JC both are) - I would keep it as simple as possible and just keep it on a separate CLIA and State license. There is no regular inspection/survey cycle as a rule other than when you first start the license. You would only have your CLIA/State BOL standards to abide by. Keep it simple!
I would say for instruments make sure they are portable- glucometer, visual UA, ect and not an instrument that has restrictions on moving or needs QC run when moved.

In New York this could be covered by your location under
