Hi All,
I was wondering how everyone was handling their nursing resource pool and non-waived testing across a system?
Thank you!

Hi Jessica,
The clinical educator for the resource pool decides who needs which POCT. Usually if they are going to be working in the ED or ICUs they get the non-waived test training. Since we use train the trainer model, the Resource POCT super user will train them and have them do their fake patient and QC hands on. Since there is a nurse manager that covers the Resource pool they get the monthly expiration list so they know who is going to expire on what month and instrument. We treat them just like any other unit that does non-waived testing.
Jessica,
I have a Resource Pool and it operates across 5 hospitals. It includes perfusionists and first assist personnel as well as nursing.
or the ISTAT, they must show a direct demonstration at each hospital. One written test is enough for all 5 places per method.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi All,
I should have been more specific to our trouble. We recently discovered a flaw in Novanet's operation. In our system we use Nova's glucometers, creatinine and lactate meters. The creatinine and lactate are non-waived and the glucometer is waived. We also use QML. Even if we discriminate location accessibility in QML based on device type, Novanet is unable to follow suit. For instance, if our ED float pool have access to the glucometer at all six hospital sites they will also have access to the lactate meter at all sites whether we have granted permission in QML or tried to take it away. The problem we are having is that our floats are not getting their competencies at all sites and we cannot restrict access. I was wondering if anyone else had run into a similar problem and how it was being dealt with.
Thank you!
