Rom Testing

I apologize in advance but I haven't had time to work on this until now so I haven't been paying attention if this has been discussed recently.  Family Birth physicians would like to move away from nitrazine and Fern to Amnisure. I have heard it is good  but expensive. I am trying to research all options and create a chart comparing them so we can make an informed decision to present to the docs.

So far I have found Amnisure, Partosure (which appears to be a spinoff of Amnisure),  Actim Prom and Rom Plus. Am I missing any others?

If anyone has created a chart already so I don't have to reinvent the wheel it would be MUCH appreciated. Otherwise I would be super happy to hear your pros and cons, what PT you use, etc.  If any of you are local to western Pa, contact info for vendors would be helpful also.

Thanks in advance for any information!

We left the nitrazine test and switched to the ROM Plus 2 years ago.  The primary issue we had/have with change was the sensitivity difference of the two tests.  Some physicians insist on using the ROM Plus as a diagnostic test rather than a screening test.

Future mothers do occasionally come up positive but do not deliver.  This is due to the fact that mother's cervical mucal plug begins to weaken some times and leaks a little bit and then stops.  This creates a positive and then later a negative result.  I do not have experience with the Amisure but I suspect the same is true for it as well.  This was not an issue with the ferning or Nitrazine test due to the much lower sensitivity of the tests.

Educating the physicians on this is key to avoiding complaints.

Our ROM Plus samples are collected by the physicians and then submitted to the lab to be performed/resulted.

We left nitrazine testing largely due to regulatory compliance issues.  I am still struggling with trying to stop them from performing Ferning for the same reasons.
