Monthly Glucose QC Evaluation
We use Abbott Precision Xceed Pro meter for our Glucose testing. This waived testing is under JC accreditation. Every month, we generate QC reports and L-J charts currently thru Pweb but eventually we will be thru Telcor.
We currently evaluate the difference between our mean and the manufacture's mean and the acceptable criteria is that it is less than 1 SD from the manufacture's. When this isn't met, Abbott states that our values are still within range. We have no way to get "peer" group results that we know of. How do we know if there might be a potential issue with a certain strip lot number?
Would love feedback what others are doing, if anything, to evaluate monthly glucose QC (being waived testing) and the evaluation criteria used since peer group data is not available.
We would like to show we run a quality program and would also like to know how to spot if there is an actual issue going on with a specific strip lot number.

We have the same setup here, although we use UniPOC. We have been pulling a control L-J chart that displays CV. We then track CV month to month and lot to lot to see if there is an issue (>10%). I think this would be a good option for what you intend to accomplish. Personally, I think tracking strip error rates and waste is a better metric, but I haven't found a great solution/report for that yet. Good luck.
