i-STAT 6+ users, what are your plans to mitigate the discontinuation of this cartridge? The ideal solution would be to send everything to the laboratory for testing and waltz back into the last century. However, for those that have testing locations outside the hospital (urgent care centers, day surgery centers, etc.) that only have CLIA certificates of waivers, what is going to happen? What other waived options do we have besides Piccolo?

Also, does anyone else smell something fishy with the timing of the discontinuation of the 6+ cartridge? It would only make sense to convert CHEM8 users to this cartridge, but instead it’s discontinued.

It doesn’t make any sense to me.
I get it, these things happen, but it’s HOW these things are managed that can make a difference.
