Lab Week Celebration

Do any of you plan a Lab Week celebration in spite of the COVID-19 Chaos?

Any suggested activities planned by your lab that you can share?

Our lab is moving forward with lab week. Some of the games we are playing:

Mix Tape - People submit a song to the game leader, that person makes a YouTube play list and you have to guess who submitted what song (you get a list of songs and a list of who submitted the song) This is my favorite game - I've discovered new music that I wouldn't have probably found otherwise.

Art - using only supplies found in the lab do an art project. Judged by volunteer providers.

Peeps Diorama - the lab supplies the Peeps (Marshmallow Easter candy) and people put together a diorama. Supplies can come from lab or outside of lab. Subject is wide open. We had some great ones last time we did it. Judged by volunteer providers.

The Price is Right - Guessing how much lab supplies cost. Closest w/o going over wins.

Who is This? - baby pictures/pet pictures/close up of hands or nose or something. Changes yearly.

How many viruses in the jar - guessing the number of jellybeans/m&ms/etc in a large glass jar. Winner takes all candy. I don't think we will be doing that one this year.

We are skipping the potluck, and all other provided lunches have to be individually wrapped. We are doing (delivery) burritos one day, personal pizza, gyros. Not sure yet what we will do the other days.

And we always have a word search/crossword puzzle.

One fun thing we are doing is everyone send in a photo of their hobby and everyone has to guess what hobby belongs to the person.  It’s a way to learn about each
other’s out of work activities.   We are playing bingo, doing word searches, count the number of items in a jar, and other odd games that can just be played anytime and by everyone.  We draw a name for each entrant for each game and they win a gift card to
something.

Oh Jill, I love the PEEPS DIORAMA idea! Send pics!

I hope everyone does not put tiny masks on the peeps to do a portrayal of what the lab environment looks like these days. LOL

Peggy - I can't figure out how to attach the images here - I can send some if you give me an email :)

Jill,   I want to see the pictures too.

There is a yellow  emoji and paper clip for attachment.

First 3 are the winning diorama from last year. Next 3 are fun Halloween 'Jack-o-lanterns' a tech made for the lab this past Halloween using only supplies found in the lab (the forms are empty diluent containers).
