Clinitek Time Drift

I have issues with our Cliniteks holding their time--they seem to drift a few seconds every few days, so over about a month they no longer match to RALS causing "testing done in future" errors. The cliniteks also need to be updated for daylight savings manually. We just moved to RALS to 6.0--have you found that these issues are resolved in this upgrade?

Hi, we also had issues with this when we installed 6.0, we had to upgrade to SP4 and then it was fixed.  We tested it out last fall when we had daylight savings time.

We just upgraded to RALS 6.0 SP6...I have seen "tested in Future error" since the upgrade....I wonder if I need to change a setting on the clinitek?

We also had this issue. We contacted RALS and they had to make sure the clinitek was set to take the time from RALS and then also had to change a setting that made "testing in the future" a flagged result so it wasn't held up in pending for an hour while the time caught up.

Lauren, do you use EPIC? Did those results have the wrong test time when they crossed over?

Kelsey we do not use EPIC, we use Sunquest as our lab system and Soarian as our EHR. Before we fixed the time issue we were seeing these clinitek results being held in RALS for an hour (due to daylight savings time) and then once they crossed over into Sunquest, we got errors because the test time was inconsistent with the upload time. It also caused billing flags for that same issue as well.
When we contacted RALS, they said they had to do a manual change because the 6.0 SP3 we had recently upgraded to didn't automatically transfer these settings or something.

Kelsey,
Don't forget to upgrade your Clinitek to V 2.6, also.

Danny, did you find you needed 2.6 to fix the time issue?

Yes, but you can only upgrade the Clinitek Status plus.
The Clinitek Status "Classics" do not have the memory capacity for any version >2.5. The times have to be manually updated on those Cliniteks.
