Would like to know who uses the Teg 6s in OR? Would you be willing to share your procedure?

see your email, hope it helps

Good afternoon! I'm tagging onto Mary's topic of the Teg 6s since they may have some of the same questiosn come up soon!
We have 3 in-house, 2 in Open Heart and 1 in the Lab. The Haemonetics reps have really been pushing the Trauma cartridge and the Plt Map-AA cartridge but the lack of QC for the plt map-AA cartridge is causing some concern. My question: is anyone using the AA cartridge and if yes, what do you use for QC?

Another issue we're having is that the ordering physicians are asking for access to Teg Manager without knowing how to properly use it or interpert the Teg results. Our Medical Director wants to make sure they are knowledgeable about the teg and it's results so we are brainstroming a plan to train the physicians. Does anyone allow the physicians to use Teg Manager and if you do, do you require them to complete the College of Teg or do you track their training in any way?
Thanks and sorry for the lengthy post!

We have 3 TEG's, one in CVOR and 2 in the lab.  The OR staff has the ability to log into Teg Manager and view the test progress, only the perfusionists are trained/compliant and have access to run the test.

QC: Yes, this is a big issue for me and this system.  I've called CAP and was told that providing we were following manufacturer recommendations that we are good.
