Clinitek Connect Interfacing

Does anyone interface Clinitek directly to their LIS system without using a middleware such as Telcor? If so, what are the pros and cons of doing this?

Thank you!

We have had Clinitek STATUS interfaced for >5 years to Telcor-QML - definitely recommend.  With as many tests as are in a multistix panel, manual resulting makes no sense (to me).  Plus, can manage operators remotely through Telcor AND have Telcor maintain the time stamp in the analyzer (if you haven't already noticed, it has a time-creep issue!).  Plus, it allows you to generate QC reports centrally from Telcor on all your devices - since there is no data management option from Siemens-Clinitek.  So, in my opinion, it's TOTAL win/win.

Oops - sorry - I just saw you said WITHOUT Telcor.  That, I can't comment on - but I would perhaps question how well a LIS would directly 'play' with a STATUS, given that it's considered a POC device...
