Nicotine testing

Is anyone performing Nicotine screening in your lab? If so is it waived/non-waived and what is the test? I have a physician looking for this through either blood or urine. I know that the Continine saliva swabs are FDA 510 (k) exempt and don't have a CPT code. Just curious what other options are out there. Thanks!

Yes, we've performed a waived test - NicChek - for many years in limited clinics. For us, it's in Plastics or a clinic like Womens Comprehensive where specialists partner to provide specialized services in 'one faculty practice' as a collaborative service.

Peggy would you mind emailing me a bit more about that test option? Does it have reimbursement? ashlee.byquist@hannibalregional.org
Thank you!
