For Radiometer ABL90 Flex Plus users

Good afternoon. We are in the process of purchasing 10 Radiometer instruments and a question regarding the use of Na heparin has come up. Our perfusionists use Na Heparin during the Open Heart cases and the IFU mentions that this may cause an increase in the Na result. Does or has anyone had this issue? We did a brief comparison with our Rapid Points and did not see an issue. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Jessica

We use Airlife Gaslyte syringes for our ABL90 samples.  They use the 1ml syringes in the cathlab and CVOR.  We follow the IFU.  If you do not, doesn't that change the complexity to highly complex and changes who can run the tests?

Hi Reine. The Na heparin they use is what they administer to the patient. I'm sorry for not clarifying that. The syringes they use are acceptable.
Thanks,
Jessica

I hope you are getting Aqure with 10 ABL90s.  We love it.

Yes, we are! Is it fairly easy to use? I guess it can't be any worse than Telcor!!
