POC Intra-operative PTH

Good morning! My Medical Director asked me to research a POC testing option for intra-operative PTH. Would anyone currently performing this testing be willing to share information regarding the instrumentation and experience with it?

Thanks so much!

We use true POC testing with the Tosoh AIA 360. We have a small team of RNs that perform testing in the Surgery Unit. We have had a great success partnering with Surgery on this. The turn around time is approximately 20 minutes from placement on the analyzer.

I'd be happy to discuss particulars if you wish.

Thanks Erica. Which company sells this instrument? I'll reach out to you soon!

Hello Jessica,
We recently implemented a cobas e411 by Roche.

We have been  using the Future Diagnostics PTH test for about 5 years.  The doctor is very pleased with the results.  It has a TAT of 9  minutes.  Our  instrument stays in the OR but a tech runs the test on the instrument.  Our doctor does quite a few PTH's during the year.  We usually do them twice a week with at least 2 cases for each run.
