Physician orders

How do you all guarantee/verify that a physician order meets with the POC testing that is performed if it is an unsolicited test? I know CAP has a requirement that states that you must be able to trace a specimen from start to finish (beginning with the order) and I am having a hard time figuring out the best way to do that. I have Telcor and Meditech if that helps.

We too have unsolicited testing which generates a lab order and the charging for EPIC. We audit a certain amount of tests to confirm there is a physician order that matches the unsolicited test. Very similar to what Patsy said.
Thanks so much!!!
