iSTAT Chem 8+ Procedure and Validation Procedure

We will soon be evaluating and validating two iSTATs and the Chem 8+ cartridge for a new clinic. This will be moderately complex testing. I've never used the iSTAT. Can anyone share their experiences with the iSTAT Chem 8+? Does anyone have a Chem 8+ procedure and a Chem 8+ validation procedure that they could share to acclimate me to the process? Also, what proficiency material/vendor do you use for the iSTAT Chem 8+. Any information is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

We use the Chem 8 cartridge in our clinics. The comparisons we have run against the Chemistry analyzer in our hospital lab are outstanding, results are pretty much the same.
We use API proficiencies with our clinics.

We only use the Chem 8 cartridge in our ED Stat Lab.  I run a patient correlation twice a year between the i-Stat, the AUs in the main lab, and also the glucometer for the glucose.  I run 5 patients minimum on all three instruments and record them on a chart.  I use the CAP proficiency standards to determine whether the results are within acceptable limits with each other.  Our laboratory uses CAP for our proficiency testing.
