Process for evaluating removal of testing

Does anyone have a documented process/procedure for evaluating removal of POC testing from an area, for example due to low usage? How have you approached this in the past? Thanks!

We recently removed POC UAs from the ER due to low volume.  The idea was discussed at several Point of Care Committee meetings and it was their recommendation that the test be removed.  This is documented in meeting minutes.  We then took this recommendation to the Administrator of the ER, the Chief of Staff of the ER, and the Laboratory Director; they agreed.  This was also was documented in monthly QA reports that are sent to ER Admin.  Hope this helps.
