correcting blood gas results for body temperatures on the GEM 4000

Does anyone else adjust blood gas results on the GEM for body temperature?  If so, what validation if any did you do on this?  Do you report out the calculated blood gas based on the body temperature and the gases at 37?

No, we do not correct for patient body temperature.

We do correct for temp on arterial blood gases on our GEM 5000. We only report the corrected gases, not the values at 98.6.
I am not sure how we validated this since we have been doing it for years. CLSI BloodGasC46A2 document may be helpful, and I have found the technical service at Werfen to be very helpful also.

@ Patricia Raucholz.  Do you then have reference ranges for the corrected gas reported?

We allow temperature corrected results to print out but only report the results at 37o.

@Laura Ball: we do not have different reference ranges for the corrected gas results; we do indicate on results that the values were temperature-corrected, and we report the patient's body temperature.
