Synovasure® Alpha Defensin Lateral Flow Test

Hi everyone!
We were wondering if any of your facilities are performing the Synovasure® Alpha Defensin Lateral Flow Test. If so, is the test being performed in the laboratory or at the point-of-care. What has been your experience with it, good and bad. What do you use for proficiency testing? We called CAP and they do not have a survey for it at this time. They told us to call API so we're trying to get through to them. Also, if anyone would be willing to share their procedure and training documents we would appreciate the examples. We have a surgeon who wants the test brought into the OR. We have a meeting in an hour to discuss the situation.

I was very curious about this test as we have a very large ortho group associated with our hopsital group. I see that it is a moderately complex test therefor would need to be performed in the main laboratory under TJC, CAP and CLIA.
