Invalid FLU results on Sofia 2

Has anyone noticed that when a patient is Covid positive the Sofia 2 FLU A/B will give Invalid results?
We do not use the Combo kit (yet!).
I have a call in to Quidel, but I thought I would ask the Group, too!

It could be you do not have the latest software update. We ran both on separate cassettes pretty often before getting the combo with no issues

On the Sofia 2 Influenza AB test  invalids usually happens when you do not get enough sample into the sample well. I had clinics who were only putting 3 drops in and not dispensing all the liquid. I know in my implementation getting that pipette fully filled with was harder for the staff.

Hi
 1. Most current firmware and assay software.
 2. We had a problem with an analyzer with multiple Invalid results - problem with the optics.  If staff are "slamming" the cassette holder door into the analyzer with a full test cartridge splashing can occur onto the optics causing intermittent Invalids.
 3. Pipetting was a big issue initially - please see the attachment from Quidel regarding proper pipetting techniques.
Good Luck

Thanks so much for the tips! I did not know that you had to wait until the liquid was fully absorbed before starting the test. We stress pipetting SLOWLY and ensuring the entire stem is filled, but then they do sometimes slam the drawer shut.
