Hello
Those of you who use the β-hCG cartridge on ISTAT in POC setting, would you share your feedback, pros and cons please? Could you tell me if you still see tests being send to the Lab for numerical verification since the range is only up to 2.000? Can this test reduce ER length of stay?

We initially started using the hCG cartridge in our freestanding ED/UC sites, pre-radiology or medication administration. However, since it only reads up to 2000, we were sending out more than we were able to perform in house, so we stopped using it. Since it's non-waived, we really can't use it in any of our other clinics.
