POCT Lead Level Testing

Is there anyone  performing POCT Lead Level testing?

Any positives/negatives for the LeadCare II testing platform?
For WA state we have to send all the results via the Excel spreadsheet (or HLA connection)? How do you manage that and make sure that is happening?
What does your QC/Patient log look like?

Anything else you think I should know. Thanks!

We do LeadCare II testing in our POLs. Our values are manually entered into EPIC and then EPIC sends the values to the State via HL7 reporting. That reporting is automatic. There is alot of testing the system prior to going live with HL7, ensuring the data transmits correctly.  We did run reports per site and had the manager look at the log and look at the report given to the state. We found that a few tests did not get the confirmation test ordered. So now we have a second staff person double check (over the shoulder watch) as reporting occurs.

Since kits need to be QC'd with new lot/shipment and at 30 days, we have several slots for QC to be run. Patient testing has columns for date/name/dob/result/initials/if confirmation lab test was ordered if >3.5/second check.

The second check is a second staff member who watched the result being entered and verified all steps occurred.
