ACT Unknown Testing

How does your organization take care of ACT Unknown Testing for competency purposes. The QC vials are currently on backorder/low on stock and they are so finnicky to begin with. An employee can be performing it correctly and still not get within range.

CAP offers competency challenges. I have not used them, but came across them when looking for other POC competency samples.
We currently have the ACT crosscheck, but I didn't realize there was competency challenges. Thank you.
You might be able to use the old Hemochron Response QC material (part # QCACT), level 1, and run them as a patient sample. You will need to establish your acceptable range.
