Operator competencies at other sites

Good morning!  Wondering how everyone is handling competencies for non-waived testing at other sites.  We have ABL90 blood gas analyzer operators that rotate from our main campus to other campuses, and CAP regulations state that they must complete annual competencies at each site.  Since yearly competency dates can vary for each site, it requires a lot of traveling and coordination on our part to catch them when they are working at that site, especially if they only cover on occasion.  I believe we are OK with doing their initial training at the main campus, unless they don't travel, then we complete it at their home campus.   Any input is appreciated!

CAP has changed this a few times over the years.

Our MRI nurses are the same with iSTAT at different sites.  We do make them complete the direct observation and skills type assessments but their critical thinking is assessed online so there is really no way for us to know what site they completed at.

It could definitely get cited if you don't complete at each site though.  Luckily we have someone delegated at the off site to assist the POCCs with completing.

Same here as Angie. BSRNs in the area of nonwaived testing are designated by CLIA Lab Director to do the annual checkoffs.
