Does anyone perform scheduled maintenance on the optical detector for the Avoximeter 1000E? If so, what do you do?

I do not perform scheduled maintenance. Only when the QC or optical filters start failing, do I have my Bio-medical department service the AVOX.

I know its not required, but I have biomed clean the opticals every 6 months before  cal ver.   When it was difficult to get cal ver it saved the possibility of it failing and having to repeat when I didn't have backup reagent.

Since it requires opening up the instrument, we do not have the optical detector cleaned unless there are issues with erroneous results or QC failures.  If needed, we would have our BioMed department perform.

We are new to the Avoximeter, but I did have my BioMed department perform the optical cleaning at 6 months, before I did my Cal Verification. He said it was not hard, and it was dusty in there, so I guess it was worth doing!
