For sites that use ABL 90s, do you run external controls in addition to the internal controls?

Yes. Primary purpose is as a new lot check after changing SC or SP.
We run 3 levels of external controls each time a solution pack or sensor cassette is changed.
We also run 3 levels of external QC when a solution pack and/or sensor cassette is replaced. So at a minmum externals are performed monthly.
We only run the external QC after service calls. The onboard QC in the solution pack is the same material. Technically the device is handling the minimum daily QC requirements for you.
We follow the same process as Brian. OnBoard QC is the same material and uses same pathway. That is why it is IQCP exempt, also.
