Validating Orange VS Green EPOC cards

We are preparing to make the switch from the green EPOC cards to the Orange cards, as the green cards are going away at the end of the year.
Has anyone out in POC land done this already? What was your validation plan?

Thanks in advance!

Here is an excerpt from the announcement from Siemens- I first saw it last August:

I am interested in any recommendations for this as well. I knew the green cards would eventually no longer be available but had not been notified of an actual sunset date. Thanks for sharing!

I am as well.  I will have to change to the orange cards.

We did a verification of the 2 new analytes only for one of our CAP IDs and have moved from the Green cards there. Another location did not switch. According to Siemen's the new cards use the same methodology as the old cards and the only difference is those two tests. We plan on using the orange cards with suppressed new analyte values turned off at EDM. No use of new analytes = no need for new verification.

I validated the Orange Cards 2 years ago. I had heard they were going to be eliminated, and I had the time to do it so I did it right away.
I did a full validation of all of the analytes: precision, AMR and method comparison to our laboratory analyzers. All of the validation studies were acceptable.

I asked Siemens to supply us with free cards for the validation and they are sending me some. Just a heads up if you want your account representative to do the same.

Is there now an extra control that must be purchased if we validate the orange cards? Level 6?

Reply to Lisa: I don't think it is required to use Level 6, however it does have a higher value for the TCO2, if you are going to be reporting that. I use the Level 6 for my bi-annual AMR checks. The AMR for TCO2 is 5-50 mmol/L. The current ISE-Metabolite Linearity material from Eurotrol typically only has a high value up to ~30. In order to use a reportable range of 5-50, I use the Level 6 as my 6th linearity standard.
