CHEMSTAT

Hi Stacie, we are using ChemSTAT at our freestanding ED/UC to do blood gas, BMP, and lactate. We had some issues in the beginning, but the company has been really good at working with us to address them, and our operators are pretty happy with it. We originally compared it to our lab Siemens analyzers (even though that is not required) and the comparison was within acceptable limits. We have had some issues with proficiency testing, as there aren't a lot of ChemSTATs out there (yet), and API is comparing them to Epoc, which uses different methodology for electrolytes. Werfen is very responsive when there are issues, and recently made some significant changes to the cartridge packs to improve performance. All in all, we are happy with them.
