POCT Ocular pH

Ocular pH testing - this is a big debate in our health system. Is it a POC test or a nursing protocol and POC is hands off.
Anyone performing this at their systems, what is your process:
POCT procedure or a Nursing Protocol?
If POCT, what type of QC -Urine or buffers?
Is anyone able to share a procedure for ocular testing?
Thanks!

We are currently in the process of, fully, turning it over to nursing staff. Previously, we used buffers for QC.
We are a Veterans Admin hospital and our ED decided to call pH ocular part of a medical procedure as the pH is checked just to confirm that the "washing" of the eye achieved a normal pH and is not used as a diagnostic tool. Therefore no QC required Best Wishes
It is essentially a nursing task for us, but POC staff inventory/order/QC/distribute the pH paper. We use pHizatest paper and buffers as our QC material. POC maintains a procedure and an online competency course that is assigned annually by our center for nursing excellence staff. I'll send a copy of our procedure to your email.
POC monitors eye pH testing performed by providers. We use pHydrion strips and Quantimetrix Dropper Plus Point of Care Urinalysis Dipstick Controls.
I was told by TJC that it is lab's responsibility to check pH paper integrity. So even though ER has their own policy, I run QC monthly with 2 levels of buffer.
CLIA says it's a lab test, which is hard for me to agree with. Seems like you are mostly testing the eye flush solution more than anything made by the human body. We test qc with pH buffers.
