ISTAT Chem8 correlation to Siemens Atellica BUN not matching

Hello.  We recently got new Siemen Atellicas in our lab and I'm finding that the BUN on the CHEM8 cartridge will not correlate within the 2mg/dl or 9% difference we used for our old instrument.  All other cartridges and analytes are comparing well.  The controls and calibration on the Atellicas look fine.  The controls and cal/ver looks fine on my Istats.  Has anyone else seen this with their instruments?  I contacted both Siemens and Abbott, and they did not have any information for me.  Any suggestions or input if you have seen this with your Istat/Atellica comparisons?  Thanks.

My Cath Lab wants to go live with these, but we haven't started the process yet. I am curious now to see how it will go.

We have Ortho Vitros 7600's in our lab now, but our Chem 8+ correlation was against the 5600s.  BUN did not compare well for us either around the 30-40 mg/dl range.  The ED didn't seem too concerned, so we have it set to report as >28 mg/dL right now.  I plan to do a new study soon with the 7600s, hoping for better comparisons.

That is the only parameter we struggled with, all others compared very well.

Not wanting to add fuel to the fire except the fact that we have D/C'd the reporting of the Hct from the CHEM8 and EG7 cartridges due to unacceptable positive bias; something Abbott denies.

I have recently done correlations between the Atellica and Chem8 cartridges. We too are having problems correlating the BUN with the Atellica. We were also having problems with the CO2 not looking great either. What sample types did you use for your correlations? I started out using syringes and then switched to green tops, which matched better but still outside the 9% for the BUN.

I'm glad to hear we aren't the only ones with issues.  Did you put a comment on the BUN result or what was your response/action?  Thanks.

I used green tops for my samples.

We were only evaluating the Chem8 so no patients were resulted.
