Medtronic HMS

We are bringing in 3 Medtronic HMS Plus analyzers into the CVOR.  We are working with the LIS team to get the orders built and interfaced through Cerner. The analyzers will perform ACT, Heparin assays of varying concentration levels and HDR (High Dose Response to heparin). Would anyone who uses this analyzer and has it interfaced, be willing to share a printout of QC and patient results from their EHR?

Thanks

We are currently interfacing our HMS Plus through our middleware Telcor. We are having trouble getting results to send across the interface. Did you come across any IT roadblocks during your interface setup that might shed some light on our situation?

We have our device settings to Transmit Both (Print and electronic) and connected to a lantronix box which is then connected to the network.

Thanks!

We are also interfaced but to RALS. The issues I saw were
1. making sure the data cable connectors were tight-fitting in the ports, loose connectors are a problem.
2. using a barcode scanner, I never could get data to flow correctly. Once I removed it and directly connected the digi-box to the HMS data transmitted just fine.
3. I've noticed that occasionally not all results will cross and have to resend, so I always check print-outs to make sure it matches with what is in RALS.. No clue why.
4. Any power surges mess with the digi-box so I occasionally I power-down the box, then power it back up to reset.
Hope this helps.
