CAP accredited- we have 6 i-stats that we run waived creatinine testing on. Abbott states to run external simulator and thermal check after CLEW updates. Following this update, I run cal verifiers and 2 levels of controls. Is it necessary to do a patient correlation since I am also running the QC?

No, since this is a waived test correlations are not required. **unless your specific lab policies say otherwise**
For waived testing, you only need to follow the manufacturer's instructions if they say "do this" after the update. Anything else would be at the medical directors discretion.
