Can anyone tell me specifically what does your EMR have on it when resulting a Wet Mount and/or Fern.

I have seen a wet mount order from my orgaization and I am not sure its ok.

Any insight would be great.
Right now we have no Fern resulting order

Our wet prep is broken down into the components that are resulted under the POC wet mount test. And comments are definitely not a hard stop! ;)

And here's our fern test. We have taken away their ability to free-text their results for (most?) POC testing, and limited them to standard responses.

Thank you Michelle!

Our Fern Test result field is similar with a few added items. I personally hate that Nitrazine is just Positive or Negative. To my lab-brain, it should be a pH result, but I'm not fighting that battle, and this is how they are used to describing it.

Our POC Fern order is only reported as Positive or Negative. We have a POC Genital Wet Prep order that results WBC, Yeast, Whiff test, clue cells, pH, and trichomonas. We have a POC KOH Prep order that reports out yeast present/absent. Lastly! We have a POC pH by nitrazine order that is a free text field to report a numerical value or positive/negative (which I agree, I'm not a fan of, but haven't wanted to fight that battle!)
