Does anyone have experience with managing point of care devices on mobile testing vans? Specifically, the Siemens DCA Vantage device? Thank you.

At my previous job, I oversaw about 300-400 mobile labs in 26 states. We have waived and moderately complex tests on the menu, but not the DCA Vantage. Feel free to send any questions my way at jennifer.hayes@sightdx.com
We use a DCA Vantage on our van. As with other POC supplies, temp monitoring is essential. When the van is in motion, the analyzer is stored inside a bench to keep it from getting moved around or dropping.
Our providers would like to offer A1C testing, currently we only support/manage the Siemens DCA, there is a comment in the operators manual about having to perform an optical calibration each time the DCA is moved. Since the device would be on a van it will be ‘moving’ all the time.
That is good to know Debra, this will be a new project for our team. Do you just require the quarterly optical calibration check?
We require the optical check at least quarterly. We do it more often if there is any alert or issue such as failed QC test.
Ok great thank you all for your quick responses.

we use the afinions on the mobile van , the team like those better than the DCA
How are patient test results transmitted to the patient medical record? Do you wait for the van to return to a main campus and reconnect the POC devices to a middleware/interface or do staff manually enter/scan the test results into the patients record?
