Please share any recommendations for Glucose & Ketone meters. We currently have nova glucometers and they have promised this dual meter but it is not yet approved by the FDA in the USA. Our endocrinologists want a meter that performs both tests in the ED of our childrens hospital. I would appreciate any input. Our middleware is telcor. Thanks in advance for your help.

I had a similar request last year in March 2022 but since B-HB is a test that we can perform in-house with a reasonable turnaround time, the decision was made to continue with the normal process of sending specimens to lab for testing. We also already use and have a contract with Roche for the Accu-Chek Inform II for glucose testing. I did some research and found out that Abbott manufactures FreeStyle Precision Pro. Only Abbott offers hospital blood glucose and ketone testing in one meter. Durable design withstands rigorous cleaning and disinfection cycles. This meter runs on disposable AA batteries, and would transmit the results wirelessly into the chart. It requires a connection to a Data Management System such as TELCOR. Without the data management system the device is a “brick”. Hopefully this information is useful and saves you time.
We had the same request a few years ago and we brought in FreeStyle Precision Pro for ketone testing only. Not every unit needed a meter, so we only install on the units that need them. We also have Nova meters and Telcor and connect them through Telcor's ADC which is a direct connect to the meter. Let me know if you need any other info.
