Clinitek Status+ Controls

Good morning everyone,
We have about 60 "connected" Clinitek Status+ analyzers across our system, many in the ambulatory setting.  One of our challenges is keeping the QC lot# and QC ranges up to date on each meter.  Most of the time the caregivers don't notify us so that we can send the configuration with the new control information.  We are looking to possibly switch from the Cardinal Health UA Control Tube Set since we currently have 3-4 different lot#'s in use with slightly different ranges.  Can anyone recommend a urine control with ranges that don't change lot-to-lot?  We are aware of the Chek-Stix controls but would like to explore a
ready made dipper control.  For reference, we use Multistix 10SG strips.  Thanks so much!

Hello Sandy,

We use Quantimetrix controls.  The ranges do slightly change lot to lot but not so extreme.

Hi Sandy! We use the Dipper POCT Liquid Urinalysis QC by Quantimetrix. So far ranges hasn't changed since we started using it.

We use Quantimetrix as well. The ranges change but only slightly (usually SG and pH).

I do not know of any that stay the same lot to lot.  Below are the compatible controls that I was sent from Siemens.  We use the Quantimetrix but the dropper not the dipper.

We also use the Quanimetrix controls. The lot numbers ... for us ... last for 6 - 9 months for our 37 facilities and if the ranges change at all, it is usually a single reporting increment up or down on our 10SG strips.

Very pleased with the results.

Hi  you could sequester a specific QC lot to use within your system, one that has a longer shelf life.  Siemens QC controls have a 22 month shelf life.

We use the Clinitek Status and I didn't know that you can send the lot configuration.  Can you email me chuliganga@elrio.org on how to do that or should I call Siemens?  We use BioRad and over 12 clinics each using a different lot, it is hard to program in each device.

Thank you all for taking time to respond.  I left out one important detail:  we use Rapidcomm middleware to connect to our Clinitek analyzers and Telcor.  When using Rapidcomm, we are able to send a configuration from our Master Clinitek in the POCT lab to each Clinitek. Part of this configuration is the lot # of controls.  We can only send 1 lot number to each Clinitek (that's all the device can accept), so this is where our problem lies.  When reviewing QC results monthly in Rapidcomm, we can see the lot# that's programmed into the CLinitek and the lot# that is manually entered by the operator.  When the lot#s don't match, its time consuming to contact each site, send the correct configuration, and have them run controls again.  We've tried sequestering lots, however, we still end up with at least 3 different lot numbers at a given time.  They run QC weekly so each box of controls can last more than 6 months at a time.  Thanks again.

we use the BioRad qUAnitify Advance Controls in the dropper form.  I order for the house, and I hold all QC.  They must ask me for the controls.  I control the inventory; the ranges do not change really at all.  They are good for one month refrigerated once open.  The current lot we are on, doesn't expire until June of 2024.

We use the Quantimetrix UA dropper controls for a number of years now. Very little change in ranges from lot ot lot.
