Afinion Instrument- Moving Instrument for Health Fair- Run QC?

We are having a health fair where hbA1c testing will be performed via our Afinion AS100 and Afinion 2.
I always thought that if an instrument was moved QC should be run on it. However, when I read the manual that was not mentioned.
If you transport instruments what do you do?

Since it's waived, you're probably not required to QC after each move.  The case could be made though, since it's not intended to be a portable device.  It's supposed to be "placed on a dry, clean, stable and horizontal surface."

Hello Danielle,
The instrument is waived, however I would recommend running at least the quality control to make sure the instrument functions are not affected by the relocation and physical change in environment.

I agree.  I think the case could be made for it not being a portable device, thus needing to be treated like you're 'installing it' each time, which requires QC.
